NGHS - Texturing Contest
Okay guys, it’s time for another one of our exciting contests!
This time, it’s about texturing; we (Disting and me) will both provide you with a model so you can chose from either of those two models, and then it’s up to you to go all-out and make something amazing!
Now as for the rules: we’re going for a blizzard-inspired look, meaning world of warcraft and just that general hand painted cartoony look.
The object you will be texturing is a shield, but you can’t change the geometry, so everything related to the look and feel will have to come from the texture itself. As for the maps; normal maps are prohibited, so you’ll have to be creative with the diffuse map.
The contest will run for a week, after which Disting and me will sit together and determine which artist has done the most epic work and thus deserves the prize: a custom NGHS avatar so everyone on the forum will be able to see what awesome work he/she did.
I’m sure you all want to get started, so here is the download link for the .OBJ files of the models:

for final submission, edit your first post in that thread, and put your final submission there, together with your diffuse map.
Make sure you PRESENT your submission! this means:
final image = screengrab of final submission AND diffuse map in the same image, WITH the NGHS logo, which can be found here:
